Mobile app
The OverDrive app is available in the Amazon Appstore for Fire tablets using FireOS 5+.
If you’re using an Android or iOS device, try Libby (for libraries) or Sora (for schools) instead.
In Bahrain, China, Egypt, Hong Kong, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, the Syrian Arab Republic, Taiwan, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen), you can install the OverDrive app from Google Play (on Chromebooks and Android 5.0+), the Apple App Store (on iOS 12+), and the Microsoft Store (on Windows 8.1 or higher).
Desktop software
As of February 23, 2022, OverDrive’s desktop software for audiobooks is no longer available to install.
As an alternative, you can borrow and listen to audiobooks using Libby (for libraries), Sora (for schools), or your library’s OverDrive website.
OverDrive lets you borrow eBooks from your public library on your Kobo eReader.
