This is the first time that a Tritiyapanti and Transgender anthology of true stories is being published in Marathi. (it is possible that this is the first such effort in India.) It will assist Transgenders and Tritiyapanthis to become comfortable with their sexual identity and help them accept their identity. It will also assist friends of TGs and Tritiyapanthis, counselors, researchers and individuals who work with transgenders and tritiyapanthis to understand issues related to gender identity. It will also assist in sensitizing the mainstream population on issue of gender identity.

Bindumadhav Khire is a techie who gave up his career in the US to return to India and got involved with issues close to his heart. Based in his native Pune, Bindu is a gay rights and AIDS activist. He has been speaking about queer issues at various forums in India, particularly in his city.
In 2005, Bindu donned the hat of a Marathi writer with his novel, Partner. NGOs working in the field of sexuality have been using Partner for sensitization purposes.
He is the president of Samapathik Trust, Pune, and also one of the founder members of INFOSEM (Indian Network For Sexual Minorities).
