Partner tries to explore the life of a single, educated, middle class gay man, Rohit, through a series of events through his life span explicitly.
Rohit, a resident of Pune, traces important life events – which include childhood memories, sex experiences, first crush, break ups, hustlers, coming out - that go on to evolve his sexuality . The novel makes an effort to explore the taboos and stigma surrounding same-sex behaviour and sexuality issues in culturally conservative Pune.
Partner is also available in Hindi.
